Helen Flaviano started making cakes full time in the Algarve 4 years ago. She created Algarve Cakes because she loves her job and enjoys putting smiles on her client's faces!
She originally started at Cauldon college where she qualified as a chef and front of house waitress, NVQ levels 2 and 3. She then went on to work at Keele University where she was a chef for 2 years in various locations on the university campus. Until she then decided to be a supervisor on the front of house side, She later became a personal licence holder and was positioned at Keele hall, where she ran various events including weddings, she enjoyed this immensely, to see all her bride and grooms so happy at the end of there day made everything so worth While.
After 11 years working at Keele, she decided to take a break and visit Portugal, where she then fell in love with the Algarve and its way of life, decided to stay and start her business. She has been making for the last 20 years, following after her mother's footsteps, learning new skills along the way.
